Winbond Electronics Corporation, a longtime provider of memory semiconductors, is now offering a Winbond Product Longevity Program (WPLP) for applications that require long-term support. The main purpose is to help customers select the most appropriate part for applications that require stable life cycles support. For the Automotive, Industrial, Consumer Medical, and Industrial/Ruggedized Computing segments, the WPLP makes a well-rounded variety of memory devices available for a period of 10 years including a 2-year conversion timeline after End of Life (EOL) notification. WPLP will offer EOL notification with 12 months for placement of final orders and an additional 12 months until the last shipment date (longer periods may be available).

As with most memory-semiconductor longevity programs, extended support may require migration to lower geometry process nodes or transition to alternate manufacturing facilities. In such cases, Winbond shall offer form, fit, and function compatible devices. Winbond will internally qualify the WPLP devices, notify customers and work in supporting an uninterrupted business flow.

Winbond intends to manage the WPLP through Winbond’s own state of the art 300mm manufacturing facility and other sub-contracted resources with which Winbond has maintained long-term relationships.
